Saskatoon made it 65 district championships in a row on Saturday at the Saskatchewan high school provincial track and field championships. Host Saskatoon’s score of 1,926 points was well ahead of Horizon Central’s 1,318 points. Regina was just eight points further back for third place.
Top Saskatoon performers were Centennial Collegiate’s Kendra Farmer, winning the senior girls individual aggregate title and Saskatoon Christian School’s Tobias Patmore, who took the midget boys title. Farmer won the 80 metre hurdles and finished with silver in the 100- and 200-meter dashes as well as the long jump. Meanwhile, Patmore swept the 800-, 1,500- and 3,000-metre runs.
Other top Saskatoon aggregate performers were Sheldon Boehr of Bethlehem, who finished third in the junior boys division, and Holy Cross’s Francesco Paul in the midget boys division, who also took a bronze medal.
